How to Make a Leaf Loop

It's the little details that bring a home life. Leaf Loops are one of those details, crocheted leaves with a simple loop added so they can hang, dangle, or perch wherever you’d like a touch of autumn. Slip them onto the stem of a pumpkin, or hang them from hooks around your home. They’re quick to make, positively charming, and full of seasonal charm.

Materials

  • 2–3 crocheted leaves (from the Autumn Leaves or Acorns & Oak Leaves sets)

  • Small amount of Malabrigo Worsted in Lettuce, Dark Earth, Frank Ochre (or shades to match your leaves)

  • Size 3.5 mm crochet hook

  • Tapestry needle

  • Scissors

Abbreviations

  • Ch – Chain

  • Sc – Single crochet

  • Sl st – Slip stitch

  • St(s) – Stitch(es)

Skill Level: Easy — perfect for beginners

Instructions

Step 1 – Hold your leaves firmly. Insert your crochet hook from front to back through the end stitch of the leaf stem. Chain the desired number of stitches to form your loop (10–15 stitches works well for a small loop).

Step 2 – Slip stitch back into the end stitch of the leaf stem to close the loop.

Step 3 – Work single crochets evenly around the chain loop to give it strength and a finished look.

Step 4 –  Break yarn, weave in the ends with a tapestry needle, and trim neatly.

And you’re done. Your Leaf Loop is ready to hang!
